Meet Manidha

Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated by bright, sparkly objects. I remember stopping in the middle of a crosswalk where glass from a shattered windshield looked like brilliant diamonds to my imaginative mind. Jack pot! I excitedly gathered as many pieces as my tiny hands could hold, while my teacher desperately tried to usher me off the street.

This tendency has translated into a natural ability to notice and appreciate the the best in people - not only the beauty that is already present, but the enormous opportunities for each of us to shine even brighter. My passion is to support others as they explore this potential, and in the process, transform themselves and the world. Mindfulness is a foundation in this journey.

In 2013, I was ordained in the Triratna Buddhist Order. Manidha, which was the name given to me upon ordination, means "Holder of the Jewel." I enjoy my connections at the Seattle Buddhist Center, where I serve on the board and lead the teaching council.

Skill for Mind was started in 2014, enabling me to offer mindfulness courses, retreats, and individual coaching more widely. I am currently training with Breathworks for accreditation, and specialize in mindfulness for health, stress reduction and pain management. I feel privileged to witness the transformative effect of these life skills that are offered in a secular, universal context.
